I share with you one of the best recipes with apple and cinnamon, perfect for fall. This recipe and picture were created, developed and shared by Filipa Dourado Ribeiro.

For fall, there’s no better combination than the warm and fragrant aroma of cinnamon to contrast with the sweet apples of the season.

Apple and cinnamon roses

2 red / green apples, unpeeled, washed, cut into thin slices
Egremont russet apple barkless
An orange juice
Puff pastry
 1 cinnamon stick
Cinnamon powder
Brown sugar to taste
Powdered sugar (optional)
Prepare the apples
In a bowl, place the Apple slices with the juice and bring to boil in the microwave (estimated time: 1 minute).

Prepare the filling

Choose to make the filling in a pot or in the food processor. Bake the Egremont russet apple with a cinnamon stick and with the brown sugar, remove as soon as apple get mashed.
Heat the oven to 200ºC or 392ºF.
Cut the puff pastry into strips and spread the filling. Place over the filling, slices of Apple, alignment, and sprinkle with cinnamon (as shown in the photo).
Fold and roll the puff pastry with apples sliced and with the filling.
Put the “roses in Muffins forms to prevent any proceedings in the oven. Lead to a preheated oven at 200ºC or 392ºF for 30 minutes (estimated time varies depending on the oven).
As soon as the “roses are golden brown, remove from the oven and sprinkle with cinnamon and powdered sugar (optional).
Serve these apple and cinnamon roses with a cup of hot tea.
