Garlic (Allium sativum, Liliaceae family) is a plant that grows approximately 60 centimeters.

The garlic bulb is the main interest of the plant, being used in cooking and medicine.
In culinary, garlic can be eaten raw or cooked but is mainly used as a condiment (fresh, dried, powdered, chipped and ground roughly) because it is recognized by its distinctive and unique aroma.

Garlic secrets in medicine, garlic has been reported as effective in many diseases of the story: the Middle Ages was considered very effective against the Black Death (XVIII century), was recommended by Pasteur (1858) as an antibiotic to treat wounds and Schweitzer to treat cholera , typhoid and dysentery in Africa (1950).

Garlic is also currently recommended to prevent heart disease and diabetes, cancer, chronic and infectious disorders (including asthma) and stroke.

The clove of garlic must be individually planted beneath a thin layer of soil (about 3 centimeters).
