Urinary inflammation or urinary tract inflammation (cystitis is infection of the bladder, urethritis is inflammation of the urethra) is more frequent in females (adult), because the urethra (urine conductor channel, from the bladder to the outside) is shorter than the male. The boys up to 12 months of age and men over 50 years old are more likely to contract the inflammation. In the case of babies and children, is not painful cystitis, one of the few symptoms that denounce the disease is fever.


The causes of infection are related with urinary tract anatomical differences.

Treating a child with cystitis

Cystitis does not cause pain in children and babies, but the first signs of fever, it is necessary to take the child to a health care professional. As the fever causes dehydration is important to give plenty of water to the child, and that this measure helps in the Elimination of pathogens.

The aerial part (i.e. the part of the plant that is above ground level) of European goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) European is one of the most appropriate plants to treat these diseases, because it has medicinal properties like diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and antibacterial. Applications of European goldenrod

Add 1 teaspoon of the green part of the plant (leaves and stems) in 150 ml of hot water. Leave the plant in infusion during 15 minutes, strain and drink the child two to four times per day, between meals but never before bed.
